Shipping policy

This policy explains how we deliver your order and how to return items. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions. Nothing here affects your legal rights.

Delivery

Where we deliver

We deliver to UK mainland addresses only. We are unable to deliver to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Wight, the Isles of Scilly, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. If you are unsure whether we can deliver to your postcode, email info@cabinandcook.com before ordering.

Delivery times

Item type Estimated delivery
All items except log cabins 3–5 working days, subject to stock
Log cabins 7–21 working days

Items with a lead time. Some products have a longer lead time, for example when they are made to order or awaiting new stock. Where this applies, the lead time is shown on the product page and replaces the delivery times above.

If an item is out of stock. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you with a revised delivery date. If you'd rather not wait, you can cancel that item for a full refund.

Delivery times are estimates and run from when your order is confirmed. Some items are dispatched direct from our suppliers, so orders with several items may arrive in separate deliveries. We will email you with dispatch details and, for large items, contact you to arrange a delivery date. Unless we agree otherwise, we will always deliver within 30 days of your order being accepted.

Large item delivery (kerbside)

Log cabins, outdoor kitchens and other large items are delivered on a pallet or by a two-person courier, usually using a large vehicle. Please note:

  • Delivery is kerbside only. The driver will unload the goods as close to your property as is safe and legal, but will not carry them into your garden, through your home or to your installation site.
  • Clear access is needed. Please make sure a large vehicle can reach your address. Tell us before ordering about any restrictions, such as narrow lanes, low bridges, weight limits or parking restrictions.
  • Someone must be present to receive the delivery and check the goods.
  • Kits can be heavy and bulky. Arrange help in advance to move components from the kerb.

Failed or missed deliveries

If a delivery cannot be completed because nobody was available on the agreed date, or because the vehicle could not access your address and we were not told about the restriction in advance, we will contact you to rearrange. A redelivery charge may apply, which will be no more than the cost we are charged by the courier. We will tell you the cost before rearranging.

Checking your delivery

Please check your delivery when it arrives. If possible, count the packages and look for visible damage before signing. Note any damage or missing packages on the delivery note. Please report any damage, missing parts or wrong items to info@cabinandcook.com within 48 hours, with your order number and photos. This helps us to resolve the problem quickly with the courier. If you notice a problem later, please still contact us. This guidance does not affect your legal rights.

Returns

Changed your mind? 30-day returns

The law gives you 14 days to cancel most online orders. We extend this to 30 days. You can cancel your order for any reason within 30 days of the day you receive your goods. If your order arrives in separate deliveries, the 30 days runs from the day you receive the last item. You can also cancel before your order is delivered.

Once you have told us you want to cancel, you must return the goods within 14 days.

How to return an item

  1. Email info@cabinandcook.com with your order number and the items you want to return. You can use the cancellation form below, but you don't have to.
  2. We will reply with the returns address. For large items, we will arrange collection instead (see return costs below).
  3. Pack the items securely, ideally in their original packaging, with all parts included.

Please don't send items back without contacting us first. Many products return to our suppliers rather than to us.

Condition of returned items

You may handle items as you would in a shop to check their nature, characteristics and how they work. To receive a full refund for a change-of-mind return, items must be:

  • Not assembled – kits must not have been assembled or partly built.
  • Not treated or stained – timber must be untreated, unmarked and unaltered.
  • Unused – fire pits, patio heaters and grills must not have been lit, fuelled or connected.
  • Complete – with all parts, fixings and instructions, ideally in their original packaging.

You can still return items that don't meet these conditions, but we may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling them more than was necessary.

Return costs

  • Smaller items – you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. We recommend using a tracked service, as items remain your responsibility until they reach us.
  • Large items that cannot be returned by post (such as log cabins and outdoor kitchens) – we will arrange collection and deduct the collection cost from your refund. We estimate this at £50–£150, depending on the size of the item and your location. We will confirm the exact cost before collection. Items must be repacked and ready for collection at the kerbside.

If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, we will cover reasonable return or collection costs. See "Faulty or damaged items" below.

Refunds

We will refund the price of the goods, plus the standard delivery charge you paid if you return your whole order. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we only refund the cost of our standard delivery.

We will make your refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back or of you giving us evidence that you have sent them, whichever is earlier. If we collect the goods, we will refund you within 14 days of the day you told us you wanted to cancel. Refunds are made to your original payment method, and we don't charge any fee for them.

Faulty or damaged items

If your item is faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us at info@cabinandcook.com with your order number and photos of the problem. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to a refund, repair or replacement, depending on when you report the problem:

  • Within 30 days of delivery, you can reject the item for a full refund.
  • After 30 days, we will first offer a repair or replacement, for example by sending a replacement part. If this is unsuccessful, you can choose a refund (which may be reduced to reflect your use if more than 6 months have passed) or a price reduction.

We will cover reasonable costs of returning or collecting faulty items. Natural characteristics of timber, such as variations in colour and grain, knots and minor movement, are not faults. Nor is damage caused by an unsuitable base, incorrect assembly or a lack of timber treatment and maintenance.

Cancellation form

You can copy this form into an email to info@cabinandcook.com to tell us you want to cancel. You don't have to use it; any clear statement is fine.
